MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION

Dear Ducketts Lane Families,

We will be holding a “Fall Fun Day” on Wednesday, October 31st starting at 9:45 a.m. The day will begin with a school-wide Halloween parade in the bus loop parking lot.  (IF IT IS RAINING THE PARADE WILL BE CANCELLED.)  We invite everyone to the parade so that you can get those great photographs. Teachers will work through their team parents/room parents to plan the menus and schedule volunteers to help with the fall fest in the classroom.  Students will also participate in our monthly Hoot Club PBIS celebration recognizing their caring behaviors.  The students will participate in a Buddy Club program on this day, when our teams will pair up with another grade level to work with a buddy student.

Special thanks to all of the DLES carpool parents for working so cooperatively in our parking lot each morning and afternoon as students are dropped off and picked up. Please remember the following:

Morning Drop Off

  • Morning drop off can take up to 15 minutes.  Please be patient with waiting to drop off your children.
  • Stay in your car.  We have staff members available to assist you.
  • Do not drop off students on Ducketts Lane.
  • Please do not block other cars and let your children out in the parking lot area.  You can park your car and walk your child across the cross walk to enter the building.

Afternoon Drop Off

  • Car riders will be dismissed last each day.
  • Please be patient.
  • Stay in the car loop lane.

We appreciate your support to create a safe environment for our school community.

As the first quarter draws to a close on November 5th, it has been wonderful to note the progress of our students in many ways. Each grade level team is spending a significant amount of time each week planning collaboratively to be sure that all students in the grade receive consistent, effective instruction. This collaboration allows staff to differentiate for instruction so students are learning appropriately. The exchange of ideas that goes on at the team meetings is incredible. We are very proud to be working with such a dedicated group of educators.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs. Balter and Mrs. Madden

FAMILY FILE

It is time to update your child's emergency contact information in HCPSS Connect!

Your Family file needs to be updated every school year.  Having this information is critical to us as soon as the first day of school.  The Family File MUST be updated before your student can go on a field trip.  Several grade levels are planning trips in October and November.  This information is also used on when schools close early due to weather emergencies.  HCPSS uses Family File for parents/guardians to complete emergency information. Parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child, and can do so by logging in to HCPSS Connect and selecting the Family File tab and then clicking on Family File.

Parents who have forgotten their login credentials for Family File may click the “Forgot Password” link on the sign in page. If you need additional assistance, please fill out this Connect Help Form.  Please complete the Family File through HCPSS Connect as soon as possible!
